My aerial rapids paintings are chaotic acrylic poured paintings inspired by beaches and natural rock formations. A technique called fluid art was used to create hundreds of abstract details and bubbles around the thick multi-colored rocks. I poured the background in 5 shades of blue and light turquoise with green waves. I designed the rocks first so I could create a realistic rush of water and to create real movement across the piece. The rocks are made up acrylic and plaster that is layered three times, is glossy and gives the overall feel of depth coming out of the stretched canvas. Finally I very carefully added in light white designs around the rocks to really add the rushing water aesthetic.
