My piece 'Sunrise over Crashing Waves' is an original hand painted abstract horizontal landscape painting. It's sky is full of contrasting deep colors accomplished by using a fluid technique of painting creating hundreds of abstract bubbles seen across the canvas. Silicon is added to the colors and float to the top due to different densities of the paints. It's skies opposing colors were carefully chosen to create the clouds of dark blues in the outer canvas to point and draw the eye toward a beautiful light orange and yellow peaceful sunrise. A second layer is then done once the initial sky pour is dry- a rocky foreground using a traditional style painting and a dark water toward the foreground with dozens of different reflection hues from the sky overhead and finally a crashing set of waves breaking on a sandy and rocky blurred shoreline. The simple foreground as well as the direction of the clouds is composed in a way to lead your eye across the sky to focus on a beautiful sunrise.
This landscape piece will thrive over a couch, entrance space or beside your favorite sunrise window. It's abstract clouds look incredible from afar yet upon a close inspection have hundreds of little details and bubbles.
