My piece 'Red Night' is an original expressionist painting. Navy blue clouds cover a bright light background with an intense deep orange accent. The painting is finished with a handmade, floating dark wood frame.
I began pouring a light gray and blue background to compliment the dark navy and deep red cloud design. I then poured an orange horizon over the landscape for a burst of vibrant color. The poured details are full of dark to light abstract designs with gradual touches of light that build depth across its sky.
Lastly I constructed its frame, stained with dark walnut, from locally purchased pine wood. I hand cut and sand the wood with a .75 inch spacing in a floating frame that is 2 inches deep.
Red Night is a deep palette landscape of a sunset that will bring color to your home or work space.
