My piece 'Aqua Siphon' is a detailed acrylic multi layered pour using a swiping technique paired with traditional painting styles to achieve an elaborate abstract explosion of color against a bristled background. The base layer is done with a dark blue in a handpainted pattern to compliment the design. Silicon oils and floetrol mixed with carefully mixed acrylic paints were added creating hundreds of light teal and aqua bubbles that sink into the background. Next a orange, white, light blue were added as secondary pops of colors. The white in the middle extenuate the bubbles and adds a third level to the painting which is then dragged in a contrasting pattern to give an overall light feel to the piece.
I constructed Sea Foam Siphon's frame with .75 inch spacing encompassing the work with a dark walnut stained frame giving a dark classy mood to this bright abstract artwork.
