My piece Purple Mountains is an abstract painting with its frame made entirely with monochromatic acrylic purples. It's fully poured from the light in the background to dark in the foreground.
A vibrant blended gradient of orange to yellow-orange indicates a sunrise peaking over the morning mountains. The orange is the purples complimentary color to ensure a grand mountain effect.
Orange accents were added as the last step to harmonise the canvas and complete the piece. I used 5 hues of purple from light to dark and planned to allow the monochromatic colors to stand off from each other. Finally I constructed its pine frame and stained it with a beautiful Special Walnut to accent and encompass this square painting.
