My piece Down River is a chaotic and lively aerial shot of a water inspired natural rock aesthetic. I used acrylic pouring fluid art to create a base layer of hundreds of abstract bubbles and water currents. I combined acrylic paints and artistic plaster to create thick chunky rocks with an incredible texture that is layered times, extremely glossy and give the overall feel of depth coming out of the stretched canvas I poured the second layer in 3 shades of light bright blues and white to really lighten the piece and to make the white look like angry fast moving frothy waves atop the water. I designed the rocks first so I could create a realistic rush of water and to create real movement across the piece. Finally I very carefully added in light white designs around the rocks to really add the rushing water aesthetic.
