My piece 'Crimson's Siphon' is an energetic acrylic multi layered pour using a swiping technique paired with traditional painting styles to achieve an elaborate abstract explosion of color against a textured dark purple background. The base layer is done with a dark purple color mixed with silicon oils in a vertical pattern to add a base texture to the design. Next, the oils and floetrol were mixed with acrylic paints adding hundreds of red, light baby blue and dark purple bubbles that sink into the background. Next a lighter hues and white were added as secondary pops of colors and were lightly dripped in spots near the boarder of the painting. The pattern and background together give an overall dark feel to the piece that will pop out beautifully against a light toned wall.
