Sailing in the Fire Sky. 18 x 48 inches.
Title: Sailing in the Fire Sky
Canvas: Gallery stretched Cotton Canvas, varnished twice, signed and dated on the back.
Size and Weight: 18 inches height x 48 inches width. 8 pounds/ 3.6 Kg
Dominant Colors: Blue, Orange
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas, floetrol, gloss varnish, Silicon Oil
Ready to Hang: Horizontal
My piece 'Sailing in the Sky' is an original hand painted powerful abstract horizontal painting. It's sky is full of contrasting deep colors accomplished by using a fluid technique of painting creating hundreds of abstract bubbles seen across the canvas. Silicon is added to the colors and float to the top due to different densities of the paints. It's skies opposing colors were carefully chosen to create the clouds of dark purple-reds, blues and oranges pop. A second layer is then done once the initial sky pour is dry- a rocky foreground using a traditional style painting and a dark water going off into a faraway ocean is painted with dozens of different reflection hues from the sky overhead. The simple foreground is composed in a way to lead your eye across the sky to see a small boat landing toward a distant lighthouse. A simple story is told of a beautiful journey coming to an end from a long adventure.
This landscape piece will create a heart warming story in your home and will brighten any neutral toned space. It's abstract clouds look incredible from afar yet upon a close inspection have thousands of little details and bubbles.
